Welcome to Redlands Robins Pre-School
For children aged 3-5 years old. We accept 15 and 30 hours Early Years Education funding.
The Pre-School is situated within the secure grounds of Redlands Community Primary School. We offer a safe and welcoming environment where children are encouraged to learn through play and make friends.
Each and every day is different!
We ensure children are provided with opportunities to grow, develop and achieve in a friendly and stimulating environment.
Our Pre-School sessions reflect the developing social, physical and academic needs of individual children. During the Pre-School year we aim to expand children’s confidence, independence and interest in learning, helping to facilitate an easy transition to school.
We welcome children from three years to school age and accept 15 and 30 hours early education funding.
We are open Monday to Friday, 8.45am-3.15pm (term time only). Children are welcome to attend any combination of sessions you wish.
- Morning Session is 8.45—11.45
- Lunchtime is 11.45—12.15
- Afternoon Session is 12.15—3.15
Early Years Education funding can be used to cover the morning and afternoon sessions, additional sessions are charged at £10.50 each.
Children are welcome to bring a packed lunch and stay at Pre-School over lunchtime.
Lunchtime sessions cost £2.00, this is not covered by Early Years Education funding.
All 3 and 4 year olds are eligible for 15 hours funding per week for 38 weeks from the school term after their third birthday.
To find out if you are eligible for 30 hours funding we recommend you visit:
If you are eligible for the extra hours, you can sign up online to receive a code that can be given to Mrs Raynes who will claim for the funding on your behalf. The funding will then start the following half term.
Please approach a member of the Pre-School team if you have any questions about claiming for Government funding.
We have a great team of dedicated practitioners. Miss Booth is an Early Years Practitioner and Miss Haberfield is our Early Years Apprentice. Additional support is provided by the school’s experienced Learning Support Assistants. Our Pre-School staff are trained in First Aid and Safeguarding.
Children enjoy focused fun and creative activities inside and outside. We have a warm, bright room with a large range of floor toys, a home corner, a creative station, music, story area and an interactive whiteboard. Outside, we have a free-flow play area where the children can enjoy themed activities alongside ride-on toys, sandpit and water play.
We would love for you to visit and show you our Pre-School setting.

Pre-School children are welcome to use other areas of the school for activities such as cooking, reading in the library and exploring the expansive school grounds.
We regularly have the opportunity to visit the EYFS classroom and take part in joint activities.
During the summer term, children visit the EYFS class and meet their new teacher.
With Pre-School being based in the school and the children being able to use school facilities the whole experience promotes a smooth transition into school enabling the children to settle quickly.
